You are worth so much more
Since returning to work since the lockdown of last year (not even this years) a familiar theme in the work place has grown.
People are beginning to value themselves. We are waking up and questioning why we should work like dogs for minimum wage and be expected to enjoy it.
It has been instilled in us for long enough that we are nothing more, or should be nothing more than our 9-5 or for most people nowadays zero hour contracts.
We are expendable.
Completely, obviously and without doubt we are more than expendable to these companies. However that is not all our lives should be.
With being in lock down last year if you were lucky enough to still have a job or not to be working through out the whole thing, you were probably lucky enough to be furloghed with a pay packet of some form.
These lucky souls found love in our lives. They found happiness in boredom and joy from having time.
Expendable time to use at your leisure. No time limits, no pressure and no commitments.
Now I know this is not the case for everyone. Unfortunately the flip side is those who found loneliness and depression in the silence.
If you were not one of those extremes, chances are you sat somewhere in the middle and got a dollop of each to try and contend with. (myself included)
The dawning and awakening of knowing there’s more to life, or realising you were in the wrong job only came if you came out the other side of the lock downs. In fact it may not even have happened yet.
Do you have goals?
If not, then why?
Do you believe yourself to be worthy of more? Or are you content and happy?
