Fire pits and fishtanks
The ultimate way to find peace in your day.
Today began as such a strange day. We had a few things planned, but nothing out of the ordinary. Football training in the morning which went fabulously, including getting ready to go. We were on the ball and my two gremlins only needed to be reminded once that they couldn`t go in their birthday suits.
Afterwards we saw a fabulous friend (who lifts you onto a cloud of imagination) and homed two new kittens with my grandparents before heading home to sort out the bombshell of a house we had left behind.
It seemed so easy and yet there was a grey cloud hanging over us. Luckily not a heavy one, but definetly lingering. I blame the solar eclipse that had happened yesterday and although we didnt see it (of course becasuse of predicted rain in sunny Scotland) we certainly felt a shift.
We spent the whole day moaning at each other that we were hangry and laughing it off, although this grey in our minds were tempting to ruin the day.
Now I know it sounds ridiculous to include my kids in this, however they have been mental. Litterally it`s as though I have been caring for four kids instead of 2 these past few days. Most noticable the noise they make and smell of constant farts.
Around 3.30 we had football again this time, it was my youngests turn and luckily I got to meet some rays of sunshine at the local park. These are my close friends and one is like a litteral walking talking rainbow, and the other is a solar powered party on legs.
We all felt the grey and lifted each other from it. We also decided an evening in the garden with a takeaway was the only direction the day should end and boy was it the best decision ever.
As we lit the firepit and sat around with some food, the stress of the day disaperated (yes like harry potter) and sheer bliss filled our souls. The kids ran around and had blast, before scoffing marshmallows and finishing with a cuddle watching a programme.
The wind dropped and the sun came beeming out before we ended the night and got the kids to bed at a decent time to prepare for whatever tommorows chaos will be.
Life doesn`t have to be black and white or even grey.
Surround yourself with uplifting people, firepits and fishtanks. Chances are things will be ok.
If you haven`t found those people yet, just keep searching. They live in the darkest corners of anxiety and depression and are just waiting to crawl from the depths with you.
Oh man, reading this whilst drinking my morning coffee and giggling my head off ???
